The Moreland School District serves nearly 3900 students and has provided more than 150 years of service to children in the West San Jose area. Once dubbed, “The best kept secret in educational circles,” by the San Jose Mercury News, Moreland continues to shine as a model of educational excellence.
Some noteworthy programs and accomplishments include:
• All six schools have been honored as California Distinguished Schools • The California School Boards Association bestowed the Glenn Hoffman Exemplary Program Award to Moreland’s Visual and Performing Arts Program • Moreland School District, with an Academic Performance Index of 820, has surpassed the statewide performance target • All permanent classified and certificated staff have completed the federal No Child Left Behind requirements to demonstrate subject matter competency • Instrumental music is offered at all Moreland Schools • Performing Arts Programs are provided at all Moreland Schools • The Moreland Educational Foundation provides necessary support to technology,music, library, and educational services • Project Cornerstone Program, a movement of educators, families, businesses, community leaders, government and non-profit organizations committed to providing a safe, caring community for youth is offered at all sites • Dedicated parent groups are integral to the success of each of our school sites
